"There's a secret power in every woman who wears red on her lips"...

Updated: May 3, 2021

"....to the world she is unabashedly feminine, expressively bold, self-assured, sexy and fearless," Nancy Paris said in 'A Woman of Culture: A Novel' (Chapter 9, page 132)

Do you ever feel like you need a little pick-me-up and so you reach into your handbag and pull out your favorite shade of lipstick? Well, Nancy certainly did! Placing that perfect shade of color on ones lips makes you feel beautiful, confident, bold, self-assured and ready for the day. The cost of a lipstick can be cheap or expensive, depending on the brand you buy, but the impact it has the moment you smear it on your lips brings you to a whole other level.

Perhaps it's the feeling of something smooth on your lips. Perhaps you like how it brightens your face. Or perhaps you like how it makes your lips look bigger or smaller. The point is it matters just like it mattered to Nancy, the main character in 'A Woman of Culture: A Novel'. When we give ourselves permission to wear the brightest color of red on our lips we make a statement to the world that we are here, we exist and we are powerful.

I don't believe any other makeup (eye makeup, blush, concealer, mascara, etc.) or even a piece of clothing can make you feel the way Nancy felt when she applied red on her lips. So the next time you're feeling down and need a little pick-me-up reach into your handbag or into your makeup bag, pull out your red lipstick and apply it all over your lips. Put your head up, shoulders back and wear it like you own the world because those who wear red on their lips most certainly do!

So tell me what color are you wearing on your lips?

Yours,
